

Individual Training Grants — Money for Career Training
NYC residents looking for work or trying to move into a better-paying career may qualify for an Individual Training Grant through NYC SBS. The grants can help pay tuition, registration fees, testing fees and books for approved training in areas including healthcare, technology, transportation and security. Applicants generally must be at least 18, meet employment/income requirements, and participate through Workforce1. Enrollment is currently available. New York City Government
NYC Individual Training GrantsNYC Off-Hour Delivery Incentive Program — Businesses Can Apply
This one was announced just September 24. NYC DOT has $5 million in MTA funding to encourage businesses to shift truck deliveries away from peak daytime hours. Participating businesses may receive financial incentives for moving deliveries to off-peak hours, generally 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Applications for the next phase are now being accepted on a rolling basis. NYC Off-Hour Delivery ProgramNYC Customized Training Grant — Up to $250,000
This is a big one for established small businesses. NYC's Customized Training Grant Program can provide qualifying businesses with funding to train and upskill employees. NYC SBS says grants can reach up to $250,000, including training involving software and new technology. Customized Training Grant ProgramNew York Clean-Energy Workforce Funding — EV Training & Pre-Apprenticeships
The New York State Department of Labor has an active funding opportunity aimed at growing the state's electric-vehicle workforce. Eligible organizations can seek funding to create or expand training and pre-apprenticeship programs involving EV repair and maintenance, charging-station maintenance and EV fleet maintenance, along with participant support services. New York State Department of Labor Funding OpportunitiesPaid Apprenticeship Opportunity — NYC Building & Window Trades
The New York State Department of Labor has announced recruitment for 25 Multi-Story Window and Building Surface Cleaner apprentices in New York City. Recruitment runs October 26 through November 6, 2026, but this one deserves the “time-sensitive” label: only 100 applications will be distributed, first come, first served. NYC Bond Readiness Program — Construction & M/WBE Businesses
The NYC Department of Small Business Services is accepting applications for its 2026–27 Bond Readiness Program. It is designed for NYC-certified M/WBEs and qualifying small construction/trade firms that want to obtain surety bonds, increase bonding capacity, and compete for larger City construction contracts. People working with NYC community-based organizations have a very short window to apply for the Neighborhood Leadership Program, a six-month leadership-development program offered through NYC SBS in partnership with Coro New York Leadership Center. Participants learn management strategies, commercial revitalization, small-business support and community development while building connections with a network of more than 2,000 alumni.
