"Community Economic Pathways shows you the path — but you have to walk it."

Basic Sewing for Beginners – Community Economic Pathways
This beginner-friendly class is designed for individuals with little to no sewing experience who want to learn practical skills they can use personally or turn into income. Participants will learn how to safely operate a sewing machine, understand essential tools and materials, work with simple patterns, and complete a take-home project they can be proud of.
More importantly, this course shows how sewing can become an economic pathway. Participants will learn how to create sellable items such as tote bags, accessories, home décor, and simple apparel products that are in demand at art fairs, craft fairs, and local markets. The class also introduces basic pricing, product preparation, and how to begin building inventory so you can confidently apply for vendor opportunities and start earning from your skills.
By the end of the course, participants will leave with foundational sewing knowledge, a finished product, and a clear understanding of how creative skills can open the door to entrepreneurship and income-generating opportunities.
